April 24, 2008 (TORONTO, ONT.) – In his debut solo album, ‘From Score To Screen, film composer Alexander Doan showcases his diversity of music styles, revealing spunky action-based melodies in ‘Vigilante’…easy-listening jazz chords in ‘Coke and Water’…and haunting yet compelling vocals and music apropos for ‘The Tale of Gabriel Grub’s’ dark romantic theme.

This debut album reveals Alexander’s melodic approach to composition, and features many of his music styles, which include orchestral, classical, vocal, jazz, electronic, 20th Century, and East Indian. Since obtaining a music degree from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ont., and studying composition at York University in Toronto, Alexander has composed scores for drama, horror, documentary, action, and comedy films.

As a performer, Alexander is an award-winning clarinetist, as well as a saxophonist, flautist and pianist. Recently, some of his personal compositions were presented during a night of music at The Central, located in the heart of Toronto’s historic Mirvish Village.
